dear friends:.
i imagine by now we old timers have adjusted to the fact that we are getting older and, one day, will make our exit.
are your "senior moments" ever a cause for worry to you?
Thanks for your beautiful comments!

Greetings, New Friends and Old:
I've been here some nine years now and have learned a lot. Made many dear friends. We're all grateful to Simon and Angharad for providing a forum to discuss every manner of subjects. The main objective has been to deal with life as JWs and, now, as former JWs. That's the purpose of this great forum. Bravo!
What I have observed -- hence the curious title to this thread -- is that the strong contingent of forum members who started and supported the various posts on the arts is. largely, gone. Change and shift in direction are fine. What is peculiar to me, however, is that active JWs I know through social media and in person are actively involved in literature, music, art, dance, sports events, etc. They talk about the above, they participate in it.
Back to my question. We rarely ever discuss non-JW matters here any more. Forum members who, for example, mention they've written a book, receive few replies. Sure, you have activities outside the forum, but you seldom bring them up here.
Since I brought up "Senior Moments" yesterday (and appreciate the comments), it may very well be that I just read all your newsy posts and FORGOT THEM!
Best.

Thanks, Doubtfully, James, Shirley, and Phizzy, for the reassurance!
Had to express my appreciation before heading off to work . . .
Where am I going?!?!?!?
Best regards.

Dear Friends:
I imagine by now we old timers have adjusted to the fact that we are getting older and, one day, will make our exit. Are your "senior moments" ever a cause for worry to you? Do you laugh most of them off?
I was teaching a class in English grammar this week and became confused, forgetting some of the basic moves, like getting my notes up onto the whiteboard for the class to see. Never happened before. I looked at my notes and drew a blank. I talked to another teacher yesterday, and she told me she that, when addressing an audience, the words stopped coming out of her mouth. All she could do was apologize. Nothing more to say.
Kindly share . . .

simon,.
i'm not sure if you ever share analytics data.. but i've been noticing a trend.
it seems that every time a new jw broadcast, we get a seeming increase in new members the week after.. does the data show that?.
I recall reading in The Freeminds Journal a few years ago that a member of the GB gave a talk at a southern California district convention. He commented that many changes in the Society were in the offing, changes that many JWs would be unhappy with.
Wish I had that copy in hand.
Thanks, Randy!

dear friends,.
one of my greatest enjoyments is a daily walk.
i see things in far greater detail than when i am driving by.
For The Rebel, who has helped make my day a little better.
The credit for this thread goes to all the great people who posted words and images of their 'hood.
Love,

i have really enjoyed reading some of " compound and complex " old posts, i love his writing style, particularly his thread about appreciating " the natural beauty of your neighbourhood".
i won't embaress myself by attempting to write in such a beautiful style as "compound and complex" , and i won't embaress c & c by copying and pasting his words, but i will submit a little burt bacharach:-.
have you ever dreamed of a place.
You are very kind, The Rebel, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. At a very difficult time for me, you have lifted my spirits. A few kind people on the forum have expressed appreciation for what I do.
Blessings and peace, dear friend.

on a previous post mamacita29 pointed up the low quality of new jw converts.. is the quality falling even more as the society use lower than low meeting, talks, broadcasts etc.. when i was active initially the organisation and standards seemed totally different today.
i have seen hard working intelligent elders fall by death or exhaustion.
the younger generation that came along never really grasped responsibility hence shortage of good elders, never mind the watered down to almost nothing quality of meetings.
Well stated, Rip!
